Senior Marketing Executive - Enthusiast

Fixed-term, Full-time

The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, articulate and dedicated Senior Marketing Executive to work within the marketing team of Clarion Consumer Exhibitions motoring shows on 3 of the UK’s market leading events: The Classic Motor Show has been running for over 35 years and is the leading classic car show in the UK; Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show, acts as the classic season opener, with a focus on maintenance and restoration taking place live at the show; Race Retro is Europe’s premier pre-season historic motorsport event with live rally action at the show.


The Candidate:

The successful candidate will help the marketing team to deliver targeted ticket sales and exhibition stands sales for the events, by undertaking a key role in the planning, organisation and execution of innovative marketing campaigns.

The Senior Marketing Executive will report into the Marketing Manager who will provide them with leadership, support and guidance on campaign implementation, as well as personal development support to enable the candidate to grow within the company.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be an exceptional team player and have the ability to manage their time effectively.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of the marketing strategy and campaign plans for the events, supporting the Marketing Manager with market intelligence gathering
  • Contribute to the production of post-show reports, providing analysis of the campaign success and improvement areas, making recommendations for future campaigns
  • Responsible for delivery of multi-channel marketing activities, on time, to budget and to the highest standard
  • Write and proof copy for a range of marketing assets including websites, social media, emails, and printed collateral
  • Produce design briefs for marketing collateral, managing the creative development through all stages of design, proofing and production
  • Develop segmented email plans, monitoring open and click through rates in order to identify future improvements
  • Write, build and send promotional emails, using Pardot email marketing system
  • Monitor goneaway/unsubscribe notifications, updating the corresponding datasets accordingly
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the event websites, updating content, ensuring SEO and UX are maximized – manage upcoming migration to new CMS platform
  • Track and report on website traffic/behavior, providing recommendations on improvements
  • Negotiate and manage fulfilment of media partner and paid advertising agreements
  • Develop and implement organic social media campaigns on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
  • Brief and oversee delivery of paid social media campaigns with digital agency
  • Support development and implementation of content marketing plan and maximize potential of YouTube to drive traffic to the website
  • Build relationships with key partners, sponsors, media and exhibitors
  • Support the Marketing team with any other tasks as required to deliver the campaign and deliver an amazing show experience for the audience
  • At the events – support the delivery of the at-show marketing campaign and event delivery process

 

Knowledge:

  • Experience in implementing successful multi-channel marketing communications campaigns
  • In-depth understanding of the core marketing disciplines, and what each can deliver
  • Experience of database management and segmentation techniques
  • Financial awareness and cost control experience
  • Experience of using Google Analytics to monitor website performance
  • Sound knowledge of SEO, PPC, Ad Words
  • Experience in the events or motoring markets would be beneficial

 

Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced environment, whilst maintaining calm under pressure
  • A quick and creative thinker
  • Excellent copy writing and proofing skills
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Competent and efficient administration practices
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to prioritise, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Adept at using content management systems to update and maintain websites
  • Adept at using marketing automation and CRM systems
  • Strong analytical skills - able to interrogate data and draw conclusions
  • Project management and planning
  • Basic HTML coding experience is an advantage
  • Experience of creating design assess in tools such as Canva is an advantage
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Apps
