Marketing Operations Executive (Retail & Enthusiast)

Clarion Events are looking for a Marketing Operations Executive to join the Retail and Enthusiast divisions to help influence marketing campaigns, customer segmentation, product development and optimize internal processes.

The Retail and Enthusiast markets are undergoing significant transformation, our customers’ needs are evolving at rapid speed and so our ability to understand them, develop insight and adapt to their behaviours will be central to Clarion’s success.

Reporting to and working in collaboration with the Marketing Operations Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for analysing behavioural data trends across multiple touch points within the customer journey, owning the management of the database and recommending techniques to increase lead generation and conversion across target markets.

You will work on some of the UK’s most exciting brands including Top Drawer, REVEAL, The Destinations Show, Spirit of Christmas, Classic Motor Show, The Baby Show and many more to implement best practices, procedural rigor, operational and process improvement, and analytical insights.

Utilising our marketing technology platforms, including Pardot, Power BI, Treasure Data, Salesforce and Explori, you will be a champion of data, generating and reporting on insights that will shape our digital products and live event propositions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the owner of insight and constantly challenge the product status quo
  • Continuously monitor customer metrics and identify trends to feedback actionable insights to brand teams that influence the customer experience and product development roadmap
  • Troubleshoot negative trends and anomalies in marketing effectiveness, measured by key
  • reach and engagement metrics
  • Create and distribute monthly reports to monitor data trends, campaign success and benchmark KPIs
  • Oversee marketing asset creation, tags, naming conventions and lists to ensure database
  • adheres to agreed structure
  • Assist with running complex data queries to segment and personalise data sets
  • Enforce legal governance; partner with the brand marketing and central data teams to ensure data hygiene in our customer databases
  • Work with brand teams to enhance and optimise the end-to-end customer data journey aligned to a defined data model
  • Utilise dashboards to provide visibility and insight of behavioural data to help convert, engage and retain customers across our live events and digital marketplace
  • Collaborate with commercial and brand teams to identify and implement processes to increase sales opportunities through refined lead management strategies
  • Work closely with Group Marketing Operations to align on best practices, new technologies and cross sector benchmarking

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Ability to articulate power of insight to stakeholders of all levels of experience
  • Strong logic and problem solving ability
  • Good experience of translating complex ideas in to simple practical solutions
  • Strong knowledge of marketing automation and CRM technology (Pardot & Salesforce highly desirable)
  • Experience in areas including database management, insight development, audience segmentation and data enrichment
  • Experience in operational benchmarking and metrics including acquisition rates, conversion rates, database growth, lead nurture, engagement, MQL/SQL
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations such as GDPR and PECR
  • Ideally some experience of working with and generating insights from data visualisation platforms (Salesforce Einstein, Mixpanel, Power BI ideal)
  • Proficient in bringing together a wide mix of source data through the journey into insight (Instagram & Facebook etc.)
  • Knowledge of using behaviour driven data to build insight
