Event Director - Gaming

The Opportunity:
ICE London is the leading trade event and is widely recognized as the annual meeting place for the entire international gaming industry. ICE presents every vertical in the sector including land based (casino), online gaming, lottery, sports betting and Esports – as well as being a champion of technology and industry initiatives including safer gambling and start-up platforms (Pitch ICE).

ICE takes place at Excel, London annually (1st week of February) and occupies the entire campus – including a dedicated conference (ICE VOX 365) and a packed agenda of industry networking and social engagements throughout this ‘gaming week’ in London. With over 550 of the world’s leading brands, ICE attracts over 35,000 high level attendees from across Europe (85%) and ROW (15%). ICE is not only a leader in the gaming industry, it is also one of the UK’s most prominent B2B events.

ICE is the flagship brand of Clarion Gaming (a division within Clarion Events) that presents a diverse mix of online and in-person experiences across our omni-channel, customer first portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the day to day management of the profit and loss performance for ICE London and regular financial forecasts for the event
  • Develops a value proposition and annual business plan for ICE London, through a mixture of quantitative and qualitative research and analysis, together with the Content / Marketing team
  • Works within the agreed budget process to establish a 3-year budget for ICE to achieve agreed growth, KPI’s and customer metrics
  • Uses customer insights to improve sponsor, exhibitor and attendee experience
  • Project manages live event delivery, bringing together all functions (marketing, customer success, sales, ops) to ensure a solid path to a successful event
  • Understands key market segments and drivers and reflects them in the direction of ICE.
  • Monitors strengths and weaknesses in competition and identifies USPs for ICE
  • Works with the Head of Sales to implement the key account strategy on ICE
  • Maintains relationships with ICE key customers, venue and stakeholders and builds relationships with new potential customers who are strategically important for the brand
  • Team development – work with individuals in the team to develop skill sets and build succession plan

Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:

  • Proven experience in a similar role managing a mid or large-scale festival/conference/exhibition
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about live experiences and customer success
  • Experience managing key customer relationships
  • Loves data - and can use it to best advantage to develop product and brand
