Digital Marketing Executive - Defence

Permanent, Full-time

The Opportunity:

Clarion Defence & Security organises sector-leading events which enable government officials, industry leaders and technical experts to share ideas, develop partnerships, conduct business, network and access international markets.

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated digital marketer to join the Defence & Security marketing team. The successful candidate will help to deliver the marketing strategy for a series of events by assisting with the planning, execution and evaluation of innovative campaigns. The key objective of which is to raise the profile of individual event brands in order to maximise revenue and contribute creatively to the continued growth and development of the portfolio and the organisation.

 

The Candidate:

Supported by the wider marketing team, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality digital marketing activities across a range of B2B exhibitions and conferences. The ideal candidate will be highly creative, proactive and an excellent team player with the ability to organise their time to manage multiple projects. Previous experience in digital marketing is essential.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering multi-channel marketing campaigns with support from the Senior Marketing Manager in line with event or project objectives
  • Writing and proofing copy for a range of marketing platforms and materials including websites, social media, emails, brochures, SEO and retargeting campaigns
  • Maintaining and updating event websites and associated digital platforms
  • Using digital channels and technologies to enhance the online presence of our brands
  • Leading social media activities to enhance reach and engagement across key channels
  • Managing and segmenting data, developing new data sources, tailoring content to customer goals, and implementing a data management plan
  • Continuous analysis and evaluation of marketing campaigns, with detailed post-campaign reports and recommendations for future improvements
  • Continual optimisation of digital campaigns, using techniques such as A/B testing, dynamic content and marketing automation
  • Assisting with the design, production and distribution of digital promotional materials
  • Developing new digital initiatives to drive lead generation, reach new audiences and engage with existing customers
  • Assisting with PR activity relating to the portfolio, researching material for press releases, building relationships with relevant press and partners
  • Working with key media and association partners to secure valuable external promotions for the events
  • Ongoing competitor analysis to identify potential threats and opportunities
  • Remain up-to-date with latest communication tools and continuously assess their deployment to improve marketing effectiveness

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Attention to detail, strong copywriting and proofing skills
  • Strong analytical skills to interrogate data and draw conclusions
  • A proven track record of implementing successful digital marketing campaigns
  • Experience in social media and awareness of new marketing technologies
  • Understanding of database management and segmentation techniques
  • Sound knowledge of digital marketing practices and campaign analysis across relevant channels such as website conversions, email performance, SEO, PPC and social media
  • Proven understanding of marketing campaign tracking and reporting on key metrics, utilising key analytical tools such as Google Analytics
  • Experience in producing digital-first content such as videos, podcasts or webinars
  • Project management, planning and organisational skills
  • Previous experience in a digital marketing role would be preferred
  • Previous marketing experience in a B2B events environment would be preferred
  • Experience using Pardot and/or Salesforce would be preferred
